Hurley: The difficult thing about casting Hurley, is there really isn't any Jorge Garcia from that era. There certainly weren't any actors with Garcia's physical attributes, and few had his good humor, much less comedic style. But the essence of Hurley's character is a man who has insecurities about his weight, his looks, and beliefs himself to be a jinx. Hurley is the emotional center of the show, and it would be a huge challenge for any actor to fill Garcia's shoes, who was perfect for the role. Well, here it is... Ernest Borgnine is Hurley 1954. I'm basing this largely on his academy award winning performance in Marty, and Borgnine was pretty funny himself. I believe he would have great chemistry with Dean Martin's Charlie, and the eventual Desmond and Libby, and basically everyone else on the island. Similar to everyone loving Hurley, Ernest Borgnine was friends with mostly everyone in Hollywood, which would translate well.
