Claire: Claire is the lone Aussie in the main cast. Raised by a single mom (who later falls into a coma after she and Claire get into a car accident) Claire grew up fast, and quickly faced the challenge of her boyfriend walking out on her after she got pregnant. After deciding to give the baby up for adoption to an Australian couple, a psychic she visits insists she raise the baby herself. When he finally relents and tells her it would be alright to give the baby to a couple in Los Angelas, Claire agrees and boards flight 815. After the crash her pregnancy proves to be quite tumultuous on a deserted mystical island inhabited by hostile "Others" looking to kidnap her baby, Aaron. On the Island Claire generally gets along with everyone especially Locke and Kate, but develops a romantic bond with Charlie. Over the first three seasons their budding romance experiences its ups and downs, and Claire is often the most at risk survivor because of the Others strange attraction to her baby. To be a good Claire, this actress would have to be able to convey that although they are young, they've experienced alot of hardships in there life, but can still exude streaks of youthful vibrancy particular when bonding with Charlie. Grace Kelly is my Claire Littleton, and although it would be an obvious break of character for her, I think Grace had the talent to do justice to the character Emilie de Ravin brought so vividly to life.
